Free resume review
Free resume review: what you get, and what it doesn't do
The free ResumePass review reads your resume and shows you what works and what to fix. It is automated: no person reads your resume. Add a PDF or DOCX up to 5 MB, choose the closest of 15 industries, and your results appear on the same page. No account, no sign-up.
What's in the free review
- A score out of 100 with a label, from Needs work to Excellent. It comes from fixed rules, so the same resume gets the same score.
- Your strengths: what already works, tied to something in your resume.
- Areas to improve, and why each one matters.
- Specific suggestions for your industry. Each shows the issue, a suggested fix with a before/after example, a priority and an estimate of the points it could add.
- A breakdown of where those points sit, so you can see which kind of fix matters most.
You can print the report or save it as a PDF, or have it emailed to you. We send the email only after you confirm the request.
How to use the suggestions
Start with the suggestions marked Critical, then High. The before/after examples show the kind of change meant, not text to copy: only use numbers and claims you can back up. When your edits are done, run the free ATS resume checker again and compare the score. Our resume grader page explains how the score is calculated.
What the free review doesn't do
- It doesn't read a job description. It checks your resume against common ATS conventions and the keywords for your industry.
- It doesn't see layout. It reads the text of your file, so fonts, columns and images are invisible to it, and a scanned PDF can't be read.
- It doesn't promise results. Results are guidance, not a guarantee.
When the recruiter review helps
If one job ad really matters, the recruiter review reads your resume against it. You add the role and the job description, and you get a verdict with a fit score, a review of the job's main requirements, a skills breakdown, an experience deep dive, interview focus areas and a 90-day plan for your first months in the role. It is automated and written from a recruiter's point of view. It costs US$9.99 per review, paid once by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, with no subscription and no account. It doesn't include the ATS score, so start with the free review.
Questions
Does a person read my resume?
No. Both the free review and the recruiter review are automated. The score comes from fixed rules, and our AI provider writes the feedback.
What happens to my resume?
Your file is read in your browser, and only its text is sent securely for analysis. We don't keep your resume text. A recruiter review's result is kept for 24 hours, and our AI provider, which writes the analysis, keeps prompts for 55 days to detect abuse. Our privacy policy has the details.
Can I get a review of my CV?
Yes. ResumePass checks resumes and CVs in PDF or DOCX, up to 5 MB. See our CV checker page.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no account for the free review or the recruiter review.
